/me nods sagely as he continues rolling out Windows updates and .NET 4 installations on the autobuild clusterfuck.

in theory, I did, but I took off because Chris is a fed. I am, however, sending out occasional work-type emails while Chris is off running in the woods.

Chris is off running in the woods.
He's not dressed all sparkly is he? I'd hate to read about a tragic Twilight-inspired accident of some type. At least I'd hate to read about it happening to someone I know.

I can neither confirm nor deny his level of glam-rock-ness while exercising. People like to have their illusions, so for all public intents and purposes, Chris washes off the makeup in the shower only to have another layer pop up several seconds later (ala Homer Simpson shaving scene). ;-P

$EMPLOYER gives me Columbus Day off, but on Dec. 28.

It works out pretty well, actually. But ISTR that I got Election Day 2008 off in late 2009.

Obviously your employer was attempting to prevent you from voting.

I can't believe people actually do have this day off. I never have.

Last week we watched the news and the weather guy mentioned how nice it was going to be for 'this holiday weekend', and Nate and I just stared at each other - "What holiday weekend?'
I completely forgot until I saw this post...now I'm annoyed because that probably means we won't get any mail >:(

As for work - Nate has something from a company he freelances for.

Considering that I apparently received my juror qualification letter 4 days after the court expected it to be returned I don't know that mail delivery revolves around any published holidays.

We've got to burn leave to get both of those 'usual' days off.
