Newly noticed Google Earth coolness for photo folk

Fired up GoogleEarth for the first time in a while and noticed a bunch of new interest icons scattered all over the DC area. Clicking on one opened a GE popup with a photograph of the interest in question and a link to yet another online photo catalog site panoramio.com.

This looks kinda neat - beyond the usual tags you can associate with a photo are the geo coords of where the photo was taken, then these can be published to Google Earth for sharing with others.
