It's funny that Republicans are so sure of themselves this time around, yet they're also looking for a scapegoat in case the election doesn't go their way. What better than a scapegoat that doesn't even exist to be able to defend itself anymore!
The same way that Musicmaker ceased operations in Jan 2001 but didn't actually turn the lights out until much later that year. The books have to be closed, capital assets accounted for, debts paid or renegotiated, etc.
